In 2020, I bought my first ever online course.
It taught me how to publish books on Amazon.
My boyfriend-at-the-time, now husband, thought it was the spammiest thing ever.
I told him to lay off and went ahead to buy the course.
I used my graduation money to buy the course, going through the Wells Fargo drive-up ATM on my bike to deposit 10 $100 bills my uncle had given me in a red Chinese lucky money envelope into the machine.
I dedicated myself to that course.
I showed up.
I did all the assignments.

And yet…the results were completely lackluster.
I did not get the returns I thought I would.
The course made promises of $1000/month from 1 book… but after 4 books, I was making $250/month.
I was overwhelmed, confused, and irritated.

I was thrown into a group of other wannabes and left to fend for myself.
The answers I got back to my questions were generic, not helpful.
