Amy Suto and I connected originally in 2024 as members of WiFi Tribe, a digital nomad community for young working professionals traveling the world.

Amy’s first nonfiction book, Six-Figure Freelance Writer, was originally published in March 2023. Amy had an engaged TikTok following of 45,000+ aspiring freelance writers and digital nomads, who would have been the perfect audience to release the book to. Once the book was published on Amazon, Amy shared the book with her Tiktok, only to hear crickets and see less than 1 book sales/day for more than 2 years.

In April 2025, Amy decided to dust herself off to write and launch a new book titled Write for Money and Power in order to grow her paid Susbtack newsletter and job board Make Writing Your Job (a Substack Bestseller with over 32,000 subscribers).

Amy hired Smokin’ Hot Books to launch her book, and we immediately got to work to plan Amy’s launch strategy and podcast tour for a January 2026 launch.

Amy and I developed a bonus strategy for her book to incentivize bulk orders, and she was able to sell over 500 pre-orders of her book before it went live.

Write for Money and Power debuted as a #1 Amazon Bestseller the week before it went live.

Within the first 30 days of her book on Amazon, the book sold over 1,300 copies from a combination of pre-order, bulk order, and Amazon ads strategies.

The book peaked at #10 on the coveted Amazon Business and Money chart, and reached #1 in all 3 Amazon categories it was placed in, beating bestselling business authors Alex Hormozi and Robert Kiyosaki during its launch period.

Within 1 week, readers of the book were purchasing paid subscriptions to Make Writing Your Job. The newsletter started at 25,641 subscribers, and has since crossed over 32,000 subscribers (24.8% increase) and $200k ARR in paid Substack subscriptions since the launch.
